Clarkston, GA is a very diverse community where 60 Languages are spoken in a 1.1 square mile. That’s a new language every 100 sq ft!

WHC’s quarterly mission trip to Clarkston, GA, will leave the church at 9am, and arrive to the site by 9:45am. Several teams will go door to door and another team will stay on site to set up. Everyone will come together to participate in our StreetReach program.

There are a few changes that have been implemented to keep us compliant during the current COVID-19 situation.

  • Masks will be required to be worn at all times by the the WHC team. This will not only protect our WHC team but also will help to make the Clarkston community feel safe.
  • Pre-packaged lunch and food bags will be handed out to the Clarkston community at the end of the program. Food bags will be one per household and assembly before the trip will be done at WHC.

Our team will go to the Cherokee, NC first nation where we will use StreetReach to minister to the children and families at the Cherokee Indian Festival and on the reservation.

Our goal is to enhance relationships, inspire more connections with the people there and to support the local missionaries and infuse the community with the love of Jesus Christ.

Our prayerful hope is that many will be saved as the love of Christ is spread.

World Harvest Church will be teaming up with Esther from Hosanna Helping Hand ATL to minister to the Batey people of the DR.

Agenda:

  • StreetReach
  • 1-2-1 door to door outreach
  • Ministering to the Batey people: share the gospel, provide meals

Read below about the Batey people.

The Batey – a Haitian batey (pronounced BAH-tay). A batey (plural bateyes) is a shanty-town camp where sugarcane cutters live. Bateyes are found only in Cuba and the Dominican Republic.

It is important to understand the batey, a village of Haitian sugar cane cutters living in deep and unrelenting poverty in the Dominican Republic. It is a contrast as stark and vast as any on earth. As you leave the cities and resorts of the DR, you drive through endless fields of majestic sugar cane set in plains and valleys, surrounded by stunningly beautiful mountains. Views that can literally take your breath away with their beauty. Turn around from staring at the sun-soaked sugar cane and palm trees and you have your breath knocked out of you by abject, grinding poverty — a Haitian sugar cane village of shacks, dirt roads, and shoeless and naked children.

Let’s go share the love and hope that Jesus Christ alone can bring to all.

Alcantara-Maranhao – Brazil

This trip is very intense as we will be going into the villages in a very remote area in Brazil. Be prepared to do a lot of walking and deposit lots of love on the people. They are very open to receive us, however they are still resistant to accept Jesus. Love is the key to get into the villages.

What we will do:

Evangelism and StreetReach every day

Revival in different villages every night

Feeling a burning desire to impact others on a greater level? Allow God to stretch you in 2020!
